A traffic reminder from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. A portion of US 641 Business/North 4th Street near Olive Street will be closed beginning today to place a concrete cap on a culvert. The street will be closed between Main Street and Chestnut Street until Wednesday afternoon.
Murray Police are investigating a shooting which occurred early Sunday morning. According to a news release, the shooting took place around 12:30 on North 1st Street. One person was hospitalized and investigators say the suspects have been located. Murray Police were assisted by the Murray State University Police Department and the Calloway County Sheriff’s Department.
Murray Police and the Kentucky Department of Probation and Parole arrested three people Friday on drug related charges. Investigators searched a residence at Riviera Courts and reportedly found over 30 grams of methamphetamine, THC edibles, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. Arrested were Hunter Snelling of Murray, James Shock of Calvert City and Brooklyn Travis of Hardin on numerous charges.
The Calloway County Sheriff’s Department arrested a local man on charges Friday. Investigators say 36-year-old Deandre Ash was arrested on drug trafficking and gun charges. A search warrant was served and investigators reportedly found a quarter of a pound of methamphetamine, items consistent with trafficking, cash and a firearm. Ash was charged with trafficking and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.
