A Graves County woman wanted in connection with a New Year’s Eve robbery has been apprehended. The Graves County Sheriff’s Department reports 51-year-old Ruby May Turner of Mayfield was arrested Thursday after receiving information from a forensic electronic video. A news release indicates Turner went into a Dollar General Store wearing a partial mask, brandishing a weapon and demanding money. The weapon was also recovered during Turner’s arrest.
The Board of Trustees of the Murray-Calloway County Public Library received some good news earlier this week. The Murray Ledger and Times reports the library’s expansion and renovation project is again progressing as scheduled and the new building will be open to the public on March 27th,
A Paducah man faces charges for fentanyl trafficking. Police arrested 45-year-old John Rowell earlier this week after an investigation into his conduct. Rowell was taken into custody after detectives from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office found fentanyl pills while serving a search warrant at an apartment on Harahan Boulevard. He was also charged with trafficking marijuana.
The Kentucky Supreme Court is upholding the commonwealth’s near-total abortion ban. The court yesterday decided to uphold the ban, rejecting a request to put it on hold while a lawsuit over the issue continues. It comes just months after a majority of voting Kentuckians showed their support for abortion rights. They voted against a measure in November that would have amended the commonwealth’s constitution to say there is no right to an abortion.
