The Calloway County Board of Education will hold a special called meeting this evening. According to an advance agenda, the meeting involves a student disciplinary matter. It will take place at 7:30.
A Murray man was jailed Friday after investigators say he became intoxicated and fired a gun in his home. The Calloway County Sheriff’s Department says 52-year-old David Oxley was charged with wanton endangerment, menacing and harassment. He was lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center.
Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron is launching a new initiative to fight fentanyl. Cameron says Operation Fight Fentanyl is a new effort to attack the opioid epidemic around the Commonwealth. A news release Friday indicated Cameron will begin meetings across the state this week. Last year, 2,250 Kentuckians died in drug overdoses, with more than 70 percent of those cases involving fentanyl.
Kentucky Transportation Secretary Jim Gray announced Friday restrictions on the transporting of livestock feed and live poultry has been lifted. Gray indicates severe winter weather across the nation has caused delays and tightened supplies of livestock and poultry feed along with poultry for processing. Gray adds lifting the order helps with distribution and delivery issues.
