ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Los Angeles Clippers and Jazz have agreed to a sign-and-trade deal involving Russell Westbrook, 35, who is expected to join the Nuggets after Utah waives the former MVP and buys out the remainder of his contract.

According to Wojnarowski, sources state that the Clippers will receive guard Kris Dunn from the Jazz for Westbrook, a second-round draft pick swap and cash. Dunn is reportedly headed to the Clippers on a three-year, $17 million deal as part of the sign-and-trade.

Westbrook is the NBA’s all-time leader in triple-doubles. He spent two years with the Clippers, and is coming off a 2023-24 season during which he averaged a career-low 11.1 points for Los Angeles as he heads into his 19th year in the league. The former MVP spent most of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder where he was drafted in 2008; he also played for the Los Angeles Lakers for two years, while spending a year with the Washington Wizards in 2020-21 and Houston Rockets in 2019-20.
