The Tennessee Titans announced Thursday that they have signed three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams to a one-year contact.

Adams, a seven-year veteran, was the sixth pick overall in 2017 by the New York Jets and was an All-Pro in 2019. Adams was traded to the Seattle Seahawks along with a fourth-round draft pick three years later, in exchange for two first-round picks, a third-round selection and safety Bradley McDougald. The 28-year-old spent the past four seasons with the Seahawks, and later signed to four-year, $70.5 million contract extension in 2021 before he was released by Seattle in March. Last season, Adams was limited to nine appearances because of a quadriceps injury; he totaled 48 combined tackles, seven tackles for a loss and two passes defensed during the 2023-24 campaign.

Adams totaled a career-high 9.5 sacks, a single-season record for a defensive back, in 2020, but failed to log another sack since that season. From 2021 through 2023, he missed 29 of a potential 51 games due to injuries.  The Titans will report to training camp July 23 at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville.
