Jackson Purchase Resource Conservation and Development Foundation is holding a Back Yard Conservation Workshop on July 31st from pam to Noon at the Murray State Expo Center. Breakfast and snacks will be provided. The workshop is free. Please pre-register. Call 270-908-4545 for more info. 

Gleason Clinic is hosting a Hunter Safety Course for ages 9 and up on July 27th, 28th, 30th and 31st at 6pm each night. Free of charge and you must attend all 4 sessions. Register online at

The Aurora Ross Fire department Auxiliary will be hosting a ham and bean dinner on Saturday, August 1st from 5pm to 7pm at the Aurora Ross Fire Department. The meal is $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. For more information call Audrey at 270-906-5515.

The Paris-Henry County Heritage Center is hosting a grand opening reception for their “Tennessee in the War of 1812” exhibit on Sunday August 2nd from 2 to 4pm at the Heritage Center. Admission and parking are free.  The exhibit runs through September 12th

The VFW Post 4939 Car Show will be held during the McKenzie Southern Fried Food and Sweet Tea Festival on Saturday August 15th from 9am to 2pm. The first 30 cars will receive a limited edition veteran’s trophy, goodie bag and window plaque. Entry fee is $25. For more information call 731-352-9976.
